Royal RY2000 Airpro Compact Canister Vacuum Cleaner Review

There are a lot of people who have never heard of the Royal brand of vacuum cleaners, but once you find out that they are the parent company of Dirt Devil, you are going to be able to trust the brand like you trust the Dirt Devil name.

Finding a powerful vacuum that will clean an apartment or house is going to be a tough job. If you have a lot of carpet, you probably want an upright, but if you have mainly hard floors, a canister vacuum like the, Royal Airpro, will do the job the best.

If you live in a cramped house or an apartment, you might be looking for a vacuum that isn’t going to take up the entire closet. The Royal RY2000 is a compact canister vacuum, meaning it is going to store in a small area. This makes it ideal for smaller homes.

This vacuum was what I was looking for, which was something for very small jobs that could be stored in a small place.

Many of the more expensive vacuums have the option of deciding how much suction to use by adjusting the strength of the motor. With the AirPro Compact, you can dial down the strength of the vacuum very easily. This will come in handy when using the attachments that come with the machine.

It has a dial to regulate the strength, from low to high. Low’s for things like curtains and high is for stuff that really needs picking up.

Where are you going to use your vacuum? If you plan on using it on more than one level, this vacuum is going to be great, because you can carry it from floor to floor. It even comes with a carrying strap to make it easy to carry from place to place or while vacuuming.

Most canisters are going to work well on hard floors, and the Airpro is the same. If you have a lot of carpet or rugs you might want a different model.

With a vacuum that costs less than $200, there are always going to be some weaknesses. One of the weaknesses that it has is the bags. Many reviewers thought that the bags were too small. Others complained that the bags are difficult to find and are only available online. If you don’t mind searching for bags (or ordering them online and waiting for them), this won’t be a problem.

The bags are a little small so they get changed often but they are relatively inexpensive and easy to order on line.

Another minor problem is that the hose can be difficult to work with. This can be a deal breaker when working with a canister vacuum because with a bad hose it is going to take a whole lot more time to vacuum and you are going to get frustrated doing it. Here is what one Overstock.com reviewer had to say about his AirPro RY2000.

I find that the hose tends to kink sometimes when you make turns.

Will The RY2000 Make You Feel Like Royalty?

If you have a small space to vacuum and the majority of the floors are hard, you can get the Royal RY2000 vacuum without any problems. If you have carpeting or a larger house, it probably is not the best deal. Instead, try the Bissell Total Floors Velocity, which is an upright that costs about $50 less and is very highly rated.
