If you hate to sweep, you may be looking for a sweeper that is going to pick up all of the little crumbs, hair and dirt from the crevices between the tiles.  Finding a good sweeper is a difficult task.  Is the -Pro V1950 Shark VX3 Cordless Floor-and-Carpet Cleaner a good deal?

Shark VX3 Folding Handle Sweeper Specifications:

  • Type of Vacuum: Cordless Sweeper
  • Power: 7.2 volts
  • Cleaning Path: 13 inches wide
  • Dust Collection: Dirt cup
  • Attachments: None
  • Warranty: One year warranty

For about $70, you can stop using a broom and start using the Shark VX3.  It seems like people either love this sweeper or hate it.  If you understand that this is not going to work on carpeting very well (or at all), you might end up liking the VX3.

There are a lot of good things about the Pro V1950 Shark VX3 Cordless Floor-and-Carpet Cleaner.  The first thing that you will like is that the dust cup is easy to empty.  This makes using the machine a lot easier and more convenient.  When you are sweeping with a broom, you have to bend down to get the dust and dirt in the dustbin, with the VX3, you don’t have to bend down again to get every speck of dirt and dust bunny.

The handle looks funny on the Shark VX3 sweeper, but once you use it, you will like the design of the machine.  The VX3 has a side brush that will help you to get the dirt that gets pushed to the sides of the room.  You won’t just get the middle of the path that you vacuum over, but every inch that you go over.

Another thing is that you won’t be restricted to where you sweep.  The Shark VX3 is cordless and you can use it for up to 90 minutes on a single charge.  Compare these numbers to other sweepers, and you will be impressed.

There are two different speeds on this vacuum, depending on the type of mess that you have.  The Turbo speed is going to be good for tough messes and hairy situations.  The multi-surface speed is going to work best on hard floors and low pile carpeting.  Here is what one reviewer had to say about the Shark VX3.

“It’s lightweight, very quiet, convenient, and effective for picking up visible crumbs if used correctly.”

There are a couple of things that you might not like about the Shark Cordless VX3 Sweeper.  The first is that the lifespan of the battery is not very long.  Their company website says that the battery is only going to last 6 months to a year, and then need to be replaced.  The cost to replace it is nearly half the price of the machine, so keep that in mind before buying it.

Another reviewer commented on the handle.  Remembering that this is a sweeper (and not a vacuum cleaner), will help you to not have problems with your handle.

“The handle is flimsy and makes it difficult to maneuver the Shark.”

Will This Sweeper Replace Your Broom Or Get Wedged In A Closet?

The VX3 is not going to replace your vacuum cleaner, and once you realize this, you are going to enjoy it even more.  There are very few sweepers out there that are going to be able to replace a vacuum cleaner, especially if you have a lot of rugs.  The Shark VX3 Folding Handle Sweeper is good for cleaning up messes when you don’t want to get out your big vacuum cleaner.

Shark Infinity Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Do you want a Dyson vacuum cleaner, but the price tag scares you a bit? If this sounds like you, a Shark Infinity NV31 is going to be a cheaper option, but it is going to be suitable replacement or should you just bite the bullet and get a Dyson?

Shark Infinity NV31 Bagless Upright Vacuum Specifications:

  • Type of Vacuum: Upright
  • Power: 1440 Watts
  • Filter: True HEPA exhaust filtration
  • Cleaning Path: 14 inches wide
  • Dust Collection: Easy empty dirt cup
  • Attachments: Dusting brush, crevice tool and upholstery brush
  • Warranty: Two year warranty

The best thing about the Shark Infinity is that you are going to get a vacuum that looks like a Dyson Vacuum cleaner for half the price. The NV31s really look sharp. If you are looking for a cute vacuum, the Shark Infinity is a good choice.

Another thing that a lot of people like about this vacuum is that it has strong suction. You are going to be surprised by the amount of gunk that you get out of your rugs. There are 24 different cyclones in this vacuum cleaner and EuroPro claims that it will never lose power even if the dirt cup (which is super small) is filled to the brim.

Now, what you won’t like is the filter system, the cheapness and the durability of the Infinity or the customer service that comes with the two year warranty.

The first filter is just a block of foam (the HEPA filter is the exhaust filter), and you are going to need to wash it out nearly every time you use it.

The whole vacuum feels flimsy when you use it (which is a surprise, because it weighs a ton and is difficult to push). To empty the dirt cup, you are going to have to wrestle with three different plastic pieces, lining them up just right so that it snaps back into place.

The rest of the vacuum isn’t much better, either. Parts snap off, break or just don’t work. There is review after review on Amazon.com where something would break and EuroPro would insist that they send the whole vacuum back in to fix it, paying for shipping and handling for the machine both ways.

This review is going to sum up purchasing this vacuum pretty accurately.

“So, if your are considering this vacuum or had just bought it, take it back before it is out of warranty. It does suck well but it was not made or designed to hold up.”

The Number Of Problems Will Reach Infinity

There are too many bad reviews of the Shark Infinity NV31 Bagless Upright Vacuum to warrant a recommendation. Sure, it cleans great, but it is going to be a pain in the neck to keep it running and if you do have to send it back, why deal with a company that has so many customer service complaints?
