Finding the perfect vacuum is not easy to do, because there are so many out there and it is difficult to compare them.  You may see one model that costs a couple of dollars less, but has less power.  You may see a vacuum that is perfect, only to discover that it doesn’t have a HEPA filter.  How do you know if the vacuum that you are thinking about buying is the right one?

The Eureka 3670 Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum  has a lot of the things that people are looking for, but is it going to be the right vacuum cleaner for you?

Eureka Mighty Mite Vacuum Product Specifications:

  • Type of Vacuum: Canister
  • Power: 1440 watts
  • Filter: Standard filtration
  • Dust Collection: Dirt bags
  • Attachments: Two dusting brushes and a crevice tool
  • Warranty: One year warranty

The one thing that many people look for in a vacuum is that it is versatile.  The Eureka 3670 Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum is versatile in your home and in the garage, because it is able to suck and blow.  This makes it able to do everything that a shop vac can do, plus a whole lot more.

If you plan on using the Mighty Mite in your home, you are not going to have to worry about the suction.  With 1440 watts of power, there is going to be enough suction to get everything off of your hard floors.  Here is what one reviewer had to say.

“The Mighty Mite works quite well sucking up dust and pet hair.”

Even though the Eureka 3670 Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum has an excellent  Amazon.com rating (4.5 stars), there are some things that are wrong with this vacuum. The first thing that you need to know before buying this vacuum is that there isn’t a beater brush on it.  This means that you are going to want to forget about using this vacuum on carpet.  If you have anything larger than a throw rug, you are going to need something else.

The next thing you won’t like about the Mighty Mite is the way that the vacuum is constructed.  Made entirely out of plastic, this vacuum is probably not as sturdy as the name would imply it to be.

“When I opened the box and took the product out I was astounded at how cheap the materials are and how flimsy the entire machine is…like a tin can…I turned it on for a few minutes to see how it worked and then promptly put everything back in the box and sent it back for a refund.”

Finally, there isn’t a good filtration system in this vacuum, which means that you might have problems vacuuming if you have asthma or allergies.

Will The Mighty Mite Save Your Day?

For less than $100, the Eureka 3670 Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum is going to be an OK buy if you don’t have rugs.  Otherwise, save your money and get something that has a good filter and will work better on carpet.  There is more to a vacuum than just good suction.

Some people do a ton of research before buying a vacuum, looking at which one is a consumer best buy, which one is a lemon and reading a lot of reviews on what real users think about the vacuum.

On Amazon. com, the Eureka 4870DT Upright Vacuum has a four star rating with over 350 reviews, so you know that it is going to be a good buy.

Eureka 4870DT Upright Vacuum Specifications:

Type of Vacuum: Upright

  • Power: 1440 watts
  • Cleaning Path: 15 inches
  • Filter: HEPA filtration
  • Dust Collection: Dust bag
  • Attachments: On-board upholstery nozzle, dusting brush, extension wands and crevice tool
  • Warranty: One year warranty

The Eureka 4870DT Upright Vacuum cleaner is going to be a good purchase if you are looking for an upright vacuum cleaner with bags. This vacuum is good for allergy and asthma sufferers because it has a HEPA filter attached to it and it has a dust bag that is easy to change. You won’t be messing around with emptying the dust cup every time you vacuum.

With 1440 watts of power, there is enough suction in this Eureka to get carpet and hard floors clean. Here is what one Amazon.com reviewer had to say about the power and suction of the Eureka 4870.

“The Eureka 4870 motor actually is a very high output motor, and creates a decent amount of suction power.”

Another thing you are going to like about this machine is that you are going to get a lot of dust, dirt and hair in the dust bag before you have to change it. This is because the bag is a top fill bag, meaning you won’t lose suction before the bag is packed full.

The power cord on the Eureka 4870DT Upright Vacuum is 30 feet long, which means that you probably won’t have to plug and unplug the machine to vacuum an entire room.

There are a couple of things that you won’t like about this upright vacuum cleaner.  The first is that it is very heavy. Weighing in at over 20 pounds, you might struggle carrying it up and down stairs. The machine is made almost entirely out of plastic (only the motor is metal), so you might be wondering what is so heavy.

Another problem is that the vacuum tends to eat belts. This can really slow down your vacuuming, making it a chore that you hate. Here is what one reviewer experienced.

“The first belt broke after less than 5 minutes use- it sucked up a strand of frayed carpet. The second one broke after about 5 days usage- same reason.”

Finally, you probably won’t like the one year warranty. For a machine that is nearly $175, it is going to be a pretty short insurance policy.

Will This Vacuum Make You Shout “Eureka”?

The Eureka 4870DT Upright Vacuum  is convenient, but I would be weary of any vacuum that has belt problems, because changing vacuum belts is a dirty job.
