Canister Vacuum Cleaner Reviews

Electrolux used to be known for making quality vacuum cleaners.  But since they got bought out by Eureka, the quality of the vacuum cleaners has been in question.

How do you know whether or not the Electrolux EL6988D Oxygen3 Canister Vacuum Cleaner that you are considering is going to be a good deal or not? Here’s a guide to getting some of the best Electrolux canister vacuums out there – Electrolux’s Oxygen line of vacuum cleaners.

What is different about a lot of Electrolux canister vacuums is that they have a lot of features that you expect expensive vacuum cleaners to have.

One line of vacuums that Electrolux sells is the Oxygen line. For example, the Electrolux EL6988D Oxygen3 Canister Vacuum Cleaner.  These vacuums are meant to clean the air in your home as well as the floor, but you may be wondering whether or not these vacuums are worth it.

There are several different models in the Oxygen line, including:

  • Electrolux EL6988D
  • Electrolux EL6989A
  • Electrolux EL7025
  • Electrolux EL7020
  • EL7000

Each of these different models is going to be slightly different and designed for different types of cleaning but all are going to have the same goal: to clean your air and keep the dust and dirt in the vacuum cleaner.

With the Oxygen and Electrolux EL6988D Oxygen3 Canister Vacuum Cleaner, you are going to be able to smell a difference in the air because of the HEPA filters and MicroSeal technology that are incorporated into all of these vacuum cleaners.

Gone are the days when you would dust and vacuum your house only to have it dusty again so soon because all of the dust that got sucked up went through the machine, out of the exhaust and back into the air, only to settle a couple of hours later.

So, what are the different models of Electrolux Oxygen vacuum cleaners? And how do you know which one is great for your home? Each one is designed for a different type of flooring to get the job done quickly and easily.  The only thing that you have to decide is whether or not these vacuums are still worth the steep price tag that they carry.

For example, the EL7000 is going to be a great vacuum for hard floors and low pile carpet and rugs. The EL7025 comes with two different heads, one for hard flooring and one for carpet, meaning that you are going to get a deeper clean when you are cleaning rugs.

With Electrolux vacuum cleaners, you are going to get a deep clean, but you are also going to experience a deep clean in the air, too, which will make vacuuming a healthy thing to do for you and your family.

Hoover S3639 WindTunnel Canister Vacuum Cleaner

There are so many different “WindTunnel” vacuums from Hoover out there that you may not know which one is going to work the best.  Your friends and family might recommend one type and you may not know which WindTunnel they are actually talking about.

The Hoover S3639 WindTunnel Canister Vacuum is a canister vacuum in the WindTunnel family, but would anyone recommend this vacuum?

Hoover WindTunnel Canister Vacuum Product Specifications:

  • Type of Vacuum: Canister
  • Power: 1440 Watts
  • Filter: Disposable filtration dust bags
  • Cleaning Path: 15 inches wide
  • Dust Collection: Replaceable allergen-filtration dirt bag
  • Attachments: Furniture nozzle, dusting brush, crevice tool and two chrome wands
  • Warranty: One year warranty

One of the great things about The Hoover S3639 WindTunnel Canister Vacuum is that it comes with a chrome wand.  There are very few canister vacuums out there that are affordable that have metal wands.

Another thing that you will probably love is that this vacuum has 1440 watts of power, making it easy to clean up tile and hardwood floors.

“The suction power is more than adequate for all jobs. I am especially impressed with the hard floor attachment which vacuums in both forward and backward strokes unlike some hard floor attachments which tend to push dirt around.”

There are a lot of different gadgets on this machine.  For example the power cord (which is a not long, but also not short at 25 feet) can be rewound automatically with a touch of your foot.  A second thing you might be surprised to see on a canister vacuum is a headlight to show you what exactly you are vacuuming up. Finally there is something that Hoover calls “double edge groomers” which make sure that you are able to use the whole 15 inch wide vacuum head to get the job done as quickly as possible.

The problem with this (and many other vacuums out there is that it is cheaply made.  The majority of the vacuum is made out of plastic, and it is only a matter of time before something snaps or breaks off.  Here is what one Amazon.com reviewer had to say about this vacuum cleaner.

“Plastic wheels and axles, plastic hinges on the lids and suspiciously weak plastic latches on the wands. I don’t expect these to last much beyond the warranty period, if that long.”

Another thing that is something you want to consider is the lack of filtration system.  Sure, the bags that collect the dust are going to help filter out some of the dust and dirt from going back in your air, but they aren’t going to do nearly as good of a job as a vacuum with a filter.  If you have asthma or allergies, this vacuum might not be right for you.

Will This WindTunnel Be A Rant Or A Rave From You

There are better machines out there that are going to be more durable.  The Hoover S3639 vacuum is a decent choice because it comes with a metal extension wand and is a full power canister vacuum.
