My new carpets are fabulous! They seriously needed to be replaced, having a dog for many years definitely took it’s toll. So, after weeks of shopping and preparing, those new plush carpets were installed and I spent a couple of days just walking around on the fluffy flooring.
While relaxing with a favorite show one night, I lit some candles for an even more relaxing atmosphere. Can you see where this story is going? As I snuffed the candles before bed, I accidentally tipped the candle and hot wax spilled out onto my new carpets. I was devastated.
But, after some quick research (what did we do before the Internet?) I learned how to remove the wax from my carpet and I thought it would be helpful to share my new knowledge! I found out that candle wax can actually be removed from a carpet. All you have to do is place a brown paper bag over the spilled and hardened wax and run a warm iron over the spot. You may need a few bags to do this, but it actually pulls all of the wax right out of the fibers and absorbs it.
It’s like it never happened! You may not realize that you need to tuck this little tip away in the back of your mind, but you will thank me for it when you have your own little candle wax accident. You can find this and tons of more helpful tips at Cleaning Tips for Your Home. I still love my new carpets!
