A few years ago, everyone was raving about the Dyson DC21 Stowaway Canister Vacuum because they were new and were supposed to have changed the way that vacuums were made.

Everyone who had a Dyson DC21 Stowaway Canister Vacuum seemed to love it, but one group of vacuum users was originally neglected – canister users.  Now, even those who love to drag their vacuum around with them are going to be able to use a Dyson, too.

If you have been living in a cave for the last ten years, the great thing about Dyson vacuums is that they are supposed to never lose any sucking power.  This means that when the dirt cup is half full, you are going to have the same amount of suction as when it is totally empty.

Another thing that many people like about the Dyson DC21 Stowaway Canister Vacuum is that they are smaller than other canister vacuums and are a lot easier to store.  The DC 11, for example, is able to fold up into a really small vacuum that measures 18 X 11 X 14.  You could put this vacuum in a drawer or a cabinet if you wanted to.

With a Dyson DC21 Stowaway Canister Vacuum there is nothing to buy ever again.  The filters are lifetime HEPA filters, meaning that you won’t have to breathe in any dirty air that comes out the back end of the vacuum.

What You Will Hate About Dyson Vacuums?

It seems a bit strange, but one thing you are going to hate about your Dyson is the clear dust cup that they all have.  The DC 21 Stowaway has nearly a half a gallon dirt cup, and when you vacuum your floors and find that you can fill the entire cup, you are going to panic about how dirty your house really is.  Plus, do you really want to see how much dirt and dust your vacuum is picking up?  Maybe the first time, but other than that, you would be glad to not have to see the mess it picks up.

The Dyson DC21 Stowaway Canister Vacuum has a beater bar on the head of the vacuum, but it isn’t going to have enough power to clean thick carpet or rugs.  If you have a lot of rugs to vacuum, this might not be the best vacuum for you.

The final thing you will probably hate about your Dyson Canister Vacuum is the price.  All three models, the DC 11, DC21 and DC 23, run around $500.  That’s pretty steep for a vacuum.  (Sure, they soften this bit of bad news by offering a 5 year warranty, but it still seems like a lot of money for something that is made almost entirely out of plastic.)

Is It Enough?

If you really want a Dyson (and have a lot of hard flooring in your house), then go for it.  Otherwise, don’t waste your money on vacuum cleaners that are going to do a mediocre job and will make you disappointed.
